what we do
FLS helps to connect students with opportunities to participate in service initiatives throughout the year. These opportunities will be diverse in scope, ranging from benefiting the CSOM community, serving the greater Boston area, and partnering with companies to plan fun service events.
Welles Remy Crowther Red Bandanna Run
Every fall students form a team to participate in the Welles Remy Crowther Red Bandanna 5K to honor the memory of a Boston College alumni who sacrificed his life to save others during the 9/11 attacks.
FLS Welcome Weekend
In September, new freshmen members and returning students volunteer at multiple locations in the Boston area. It is a fantastic opportunity for new members to begin forming relationships with each other while serving the community.
At the end of fall semester, members will be able to provide gifts, clothing, and food to a family in need to help them have a happy holiday season.
Cradles to crayons
Throughout the semester, students travel to Cradles to Crayons, an organization that supplies essential items to children from homeless or low-income situations free of charge, to aid in the process of inspecting, sorting, and packing the items.
Sports tournament fundraiser
Members will organize a BC-wide sports tournament, with all proceeds benefitting Relay for Life.
